Postponement to March 2022

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

Over the last few months, as the world has been thrown into turmoil by the Covid-19 virus, the Falklands Ultra team has been assessing whether it is safe and sensible to hold the inaugural Falklands Ultra in April 2021. Organising an international event which involves mass participation, multiple countries, and travel and quarantine restrictions is challenging enough in normal circumstances but the coronavirus has added an unwanted complication to the challenge.

As such, we have reluctantly taken the difficult decision to postpone the first race until 2022.

We know that many of you will be upset and frustrated by this news. Some may feel that the race is so far ahead it shouldn't be affected; however, this is not realistic and many critical preparations over the last few months have been adversely affected; this includes conducting the necessary pre-visits to the Falklands and arranging contractual agreements with airlines and aircraft charter companies. We wanted to make a decision early rather than risk postponing closer to the date.

All those who have made any payments will automatically have their entries rolled over to 2022. If you have a question or wish to discuss any aspect of the postponement, or the event in general, please drop the team a line at contact@falklandsultra.com

We will let you know the new date as soon as it is confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to your continued support and a fantastic experience in the South Atlantic in 2022!

Kindest regards,

The Falklands Ultra Team
